Ibiza

This modern comedy made for Netflix, is a story of three friends on holiday in Spain who travel to Ibiza to meet up with a DJ. It’s a wild film, not your typical romantic comedy. So much so that the Balearic government considered taking Netflix to court over the films name and portrayal of Ibiza.

Whilst it was funny at times, it wasn’t that great. I don’t think I’d watch this one again anytime soon.

Directed by Alex Richanbach, and written by Lauryn Kahn. Starring Gillian Jacobs, Richard Madden, Vanessa Bayer, Michaela Watkins, Jordi Molla, Augustus Pew, Anjela Nedyalkova, Phoebe Robinson, Faith Logan, Michelle Noh, Anthony Welsh and Felix Gomez.

When We First Met

I saw this film on Netflix, and enjoyed it. It’s a combination Of Romcom meets Groundhog Day. Noah meets the girl of his dreams and ends up friends with her, then keeps going back in time to try and change their relationship from friends to more.

It’s funny, a little sweet and a great film for a winters day. I would definitely watch it again.

Directed by Ari Sandel and Written by John Whittington. Starring Adam Devine, Alexandra Daddario, Andrew Bachelor, Robbie Amell and Dean J West.

Anon

Anon written and directed by Andrew Niccol, starring Amanda Seyfried and Clive Owens on Netflix.

This is a futuristic movie based in the future, where anonymity is the enemy, a police detective meets an anonymous girl.

It’s an ok movie, but I didn’t really enjoy it and won’t watch it again. It seemed to be a bit disjointed and clinical, which I think they wanted. But not my movie choice.

The Clapper

This film is based on the book Eddie Krumble is The Clapper, written by Dito Montiel who also Directed the film and wrote the screenplay.

It’s the story of a man who works as a clapper on television who gets 15 minutes of fame and has his life destroyed in the process.

It’s a sweet and funny film, perfect for a relaxing afternoon.

The film stars Amanda Seyfried, Ed Helms, Leah Remini, Tracy Morgan, Adam Levine and Alan Thicke to name a few.

The Week Of

Another Adam Sandler and Netflix film. This is a funny and at times sweet film. Though not his best it is watchable, just don’t expect too much.

It’s the story of a father trying to give his daughter a wedding on a budget without accepting the wealthy father of the grooms offer to pay.

Directed by Robert Smigel, screen play by Adam Sandler and Robert Smigel.

It has a great cast, starring Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, Rachel Dratch, Steve Buscemi, Patricia Belcher, Allison Strong, Roland Buck III and Noah Robbins to name a few.

My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman – I Had a Paper Route too

I’m really enjoying David Letterman’s interviews on his new show on Netflix, they are very interesting and great to watch.

This month the Guest was Jay-Z, here he talks about a multitude of things, from who are the good rappers, his mothers coming out story, Blue Ivy, his past and a multitude of others.

Do yourself a favour and watch this episode. And if you haven’t seen the other episodes with Barack Obama, George Clooney & Malala Yousafzai watch them as well. Check out my earlier blogs on those episodes.

Next month is Tina Fey!

My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman – You know she has a Nobel Peace Prize

So if you’ve ever heard of Malala Yousafzai, but never knew much more get onto Netflix and watch this episode ASAP.

Malala is such a well spoken young lady, with such a caring and humble nature. Whilst at the same time as being such a trailblazer for children’s right of education, equality for young girls and women.

Dave’s interview is so well done for such a heavy topic, adding the right amount of humour without taking away from the discussion.

This was available on Netflix from 9th March 2018.

Trailer with Malala

Looking forward to the upcoming episodes with JAY-Z, Howard Stern & Tina Fey.

Don’t forget to catch the earlier episodes with President Barack Obama & George Clooney.

My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman – You Be The Newsman, I’ll be Liz Taylor

Now I’ve loved George Clooney since his ER days, so I would’ve watched this episode regardless.

I knew from seeing past interviews George has been involved with some humanitarian work. This interview did focus quite heavily on George and Amal Clooney’s humanitarian work, and their family.

The segment shot separately is with George Clooney’s parents and a young refugee the family are supporting in their community.

The focus on the humanitarian work was fantastic, shining some light on a very important subject.

Do yourself a favour and watch this episode today, it will leave you with a feeling of hope. This episode was February 2018.
