Father Of The Year

This was an ok comedy, alright if you want a silly funny film, a typical David Spade Comedy. Two college graduates head home before starting jobs in New York, and then have a friendly argument over whose dad would win in a fight between them.

Not at the top of my list, but ok for a laugh.

Overboard

I was so excited to see this film, I grew up watching the original starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, I’ve watched the original more times than I can count.

Whilst I enjoyed the remake, and the twist in roles of the two main characters in the story. Anna Faris is great as is the rest of the cast. Unfortunately I still think I prefer the original. That being said if still watch this movie again, though probably on the small screen.

Ant-Man And The Wasp

So first up I love the Marvel Films. I was also lucky enough to win a double pass to see the film at an Advanced screening, what can I say but I love a good competition.

The film was funny, and happens at the same time as Infinity Wars, but focuses on Ant-Man and The Wasp. I don’t want to give any spoilers other than to say, stay right to the very end. Will definitely watch again.

Two Is A Family (Demain tout commence)

This is my new favourite French film. It’s about a young carefree Samuel, who all of a sudden has a former fling turn up on his doorstep with his child, the mother then promptly leaves. Left with the child Samuel attempts to find the mother in London, but instead ends up raising his child.

I highly recommend this film! I can certainly see why it was the biggest French film last year. Don’t delay go and see this film today, just take a couple of tissues.

Priscilla Queen Of The Desert

Check out my previous blog post from March Priscilla Queen Of The Desert.

Alex Strangelove

Another great film from Netflix, I have to say they are upping their game of late.

Alex is a high school student with everything worked out, until he plans to lose his virginity with his high school sweetheart. Things just don’t go the way he planned, he meets Elliott a handsome gay kid.

Alex then goes through a rollercoaster of emotions working out who he is and his sexuality in these confusing modern times.

At its heart this is a sweet coming of age film, with friendship and love at its core.

Definitely one to watch, I will watch this again for sure.

Incredibles 2

Mr Incredible is left home to care for the kids whilst his wife Elastigirl heads out to work as an ambassador for the super heroes to be legal again.

This is a great sequel to the original and stands out well on its own. Great for adults and children alike, definitely worth watching. I’d watch it again in a heartbeat, it’s a light hearted and enjoyable film.

Game Over, Man!

Three friends are so close to getting their video game financed when their benefactor is kidnapped by a terrorist group. The friends then try to rescue their benefactor.

Not going to watch this one again, I really did not enjoy it, I watched to the end and kept thinking it was going to get better but it didn’t. Which is a pity as it could have been quite funny.

Set It Up

Two over worked assistants hatch a plan to set up their respect bosses to carve out time for themselves.

This is an enjoyable romcom on Netflix, whilst very predictable if you just want to switch off and enjoy a new romcom you will love it.

I think this is a great Netflix Romcom, it’s in the same league as The Kissing Booth, and Candy Jar.

Directed by Claire Scanlon.

Step Sisters

The best way to describe this movie is Step Up in college. Jamilah is the president of her sorority and about to go to law school. Then she finds herself secretly teaching another group how to step. Cultures clash, but at the heart of it, friendship and finding your voice triumph.

A nice chick flick, feel good movie. It won’t be winning any prizes. Very watchable, and I’d watch it again, a nice find on Netflix.
