Father Of The Year

This was an ok comedy, alright if you want a silly funny film, a typical David Spade Comedy. Two college graduates head home before starting jobs in New York, and then have a friendly argument over whose dad would win in a fight between them.

Not at the top of my list, but ok for a laugh.

Skyscraper

An action movie, where the hero has to get into a burning Skyscraper to save his family from both the fire and the bad guys.

It’s an enjoyable film to watch, just so long as you don’t think about the plausibility of it all. I loved Neve Campbell in the action role.

However it wasn’t Dwayne Johnson’s best film this year.

Equalizer 2

The sequel picks up with Robert, helping people and living a quiet life. You gain a bigger insight into the man he was and is.

Then someone that Robert loves is in need of help, and you find out just how far he will go.

It’s a layered movie with many stories, but it works and I have to say I think it’s better than the original.

The Equalizer

In preparation for Denzel’s first ever sequel, I had to go and watch the first film The Equalizer.

It is the story of a man with a mysterious past living a quiet orderly life, and then a young girl he has befriended in a diner is beaten up by the Russian gangsters who control her life. Not able to stand by, he enters the fray to help her, and then becomes embroiled in a larger and more violent discourse.

This is a great action movie, and I enjoyed watching it again.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again

The movie came out on Thursday, and I’ve seen it twice already! It’s a fun, vibrant and enjoyable escape from reality.

If you enjoyed the first movie, you’ll want to get to the cinema to see this sequel.

I still think the original is the best, but I think this is one movie that the more you watch it the more you love it!

Overboard

I was so excited to see this film, I grew up watching the original starring Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, I’ve watched the original more times than I can count.

Whilst I enjoyed the remake, and the twist in roles of the two main characters in the story. Anna Faris is great as is the rest of the cast. Unfortunately I still think I prefer the original. That being said if still watch this movie again, though probably on the small screen.

Adrift

The true story of Tami Ashcraft’s survival at sea adrift for 41 days, after the yacht she was sailing with her fiancé was hit by a category 4 Hurricane.

The movie is set in 1983, and is a bittersweet love story, whilst also being one of human spirit and survival.

Very glad I saw this movie, though it might be best to take a couple of tissues. I’d watch it again. It also made me curious to learn more about the true story behind the movie.

Ant-Man And The Wasp

So first up I love the Marvel Films. I was also lucky enough to win a double pass to see the film at an Advanced screening, what can I say but I love a good competition.

The film was funny, and happens at the same time as Infinity Wars, but focuses on Ant-Man and The Wasp. I don’t want to give any spoilers other than to say, stay right to the very end. Will definitely watch again.

Proud Mary

This action film follows Mary who is a hitman for an organised crime family, who comes across a young boy on a job that goes wrong.

I enjoyed this movie on Netflix, a nice action film with a female lead. I’ll definitely watch this game be again.
